Where to play chess in Toronto

One of the most common questions we and the local chess community receive is, "Where do you play chess in Toronto?"

When asked, players often share the specific locations they visit weekly or monthly. However, what our community truly needs is a single hub where people can discover every place to play.

Providing that central hub is a core mission of the Greater Toronto Chess League. To make finding a club effortless, we’ve updated our Clubs and Organizations page to list all active clubs in the GTA, categorized by municipality for quick navigation.

Currently, as of August 2026, we have 26 officially recognized Greater Toronto Chess League (GTCL) member clubs spanning all areas of the Toronto region.
