2026 Ontario Open to be hosted by Annex Chess Club

Annex Chess Club of the GTCL has stepped up to host the 2026 Ontario Open in place of the NOCL (Northern Ontario Chess League). The NOCL will be given the opportunity to host in 2027. Details of the tournament are as follows and a flyer is attached below.
Where: St. Casimir’s Parish Hall, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto
When: Friday May 15—Monday May 18 2026.
Format: Seven-round Swiss tournament. First round at 7:00 p.m. Friday May 15. Subsequent rounds daily at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Time Control: 90m + 30s increment from move 1.
Sections: Crown, U2200, U2000, U1800, U1600, U1300.
